About my collages...
Collaging is more construction then rendering, and it instantly connects
form and texture in a way that drawing and painting often belabors.
It connects me to visual thoughts, feelings, and ideas in an immediate way,
utilizing geometric shapes, and featuring edges and borders.
Cutting and selecting pieces of paper is an editing process
which is organic and playful, and helps me not take myself too seriously.
Pieces of paper steer the creative process, sometimes unwittingly -
possibilities seem to jump up, and ideas emerge on their own.
To this end, it helps in keeping the process of creating equal to the end product.
